The Code Enforcement Division for the City of Eupora is tasked with protecting the public health, safety, and welfare of residents and property owners by identifying, inspecting, and requesting the correction of violations within the City Limits.
The Code Enforcement Division is a branch of the Department of Public Works and is responsible for the enforcement of the City’s Code of Ordinances.
Code Enforcement Officers identify violations of the City's Code of Ordinances by routinely checking residential and business areas, as well as responding to complaints from citizens and other city departments.
Code Enforcement Officers attempt to work with violators by issuing a Compliance Order stating a time to correct the violation. If not corrected within the time frame stated in the Compliance Order, a citation will be issued and further action will be turned over to the Municipal Court for a hearing. The Judge, upon hearing the case, may issue a judgment that can result in fines, assessments, and additional fees.
Please contact Eupora City Hall if you cannot find an answer to your question.
In most cases, your identity will be protected under the Freedom of Information Law; however, should a matter go to court the information could be divulged under a subpoena or discovery.
You should discuss this with your neighbor or consult an attorney, as this is a private legal dispute and the municipality has no control or jurisdiction.
Before you do anything, call the Building Department at (662) 258-2291 to see whether you are permitted to do what you want to do! In addition, alterations and repairs to your home often require permits. Homes in the City of Eupora Historic District may have additional restrictions and require an approved Certificate of Appropriateness before renovations or alterations are made.
